Basic Info BioBorn and grew up in Montreal, Quebec, moved to Vancouver in beautiful British Columbia in 1990. Met my partner Kevin in December 1991 and we have been together ever since. We got married in 2005 in Vancouver (when it became legal). We have two dogs (which are like our kids): Butch (cocker spaniel), & Benji (poodle-shitsu). Buddy (pekingnese-shitsu), died in April 2009.
My first career was as a Chemical Technologist. I earned a Chemical Technology diploma at Dawson College (Montreal). I then went on and did a BSc in Biology (Concordia University, Montreal). After that, I earned a BFA degree in Cinema (specializing in Film Animation, Concordia University). Just about all of my university education was done part-time at night while I worked during the day time.
I worked for about 12 years as a lab rat in the mining, health and pharmaceutical industries. I also worked part-time as an artist doing sketches and paintings for commissions. I belonged to a co-operative art gallery called Ardvark Art Gallery (which sadly no longer exists) in Vancouver for many years where I participated in group showings and a two artist show. I even worked in a computerized animation studio part-time (weekends) for 3 months. I haven't done any art for several years.
At the age of 35, I then went back to school again, this time to do a cooperative education computing science degree at Simon Fraser University. I graduated in 2001 and had been working full time in IT since 2000.
I am a big fan of the outdoors. I love hiking, camping, skiing as well as going to the gym. I started going to the gym seriously and regularly in 2003. I also really enjoy challenge square dancing and my square dancing friends.
